镀锌板由于涂镀工艺中处理方式不同，表面状态也不同，如普通锌花、细锌花、平整锌花、无锌花以及磷化处理的表面等。切成定尺长度的镀锌板及镀锌卷板不得存在影响使用的缺陷（以下详述），但卷板允许有焊接部位等若干不正常部分。锌花大小由液态锌的成分来控制的同时，采用强制冷却的方法来控制,小锌花产品在锌花开始扩散之前,用小锌花设备进行急冷防止锌液继续扩散,形成小锌花。

锌的化学性质活泼，在常温下的空气中，表面生成一层薄而致密的碱式碳酸锌膜，可阻止进一步氧化，而铝在空气中，可形成不能溶解的氧化物层，在其中起屏障保护功能；试验在同等厚度、镀层、表面处理方式的热镀锌钢板与镀铝锌钢板的前提下。镀铝锌比热镀锌有优异的耐腐蚀性。因为55%AL-Zn的密度比Zn的密度小,所以在重量相同和镀金层厚度相同的情况下,镀铝锌钢板比镀锌钢板的面积大3%以上。镀铝锌由于力学性能的增加，内层基材表面镀层密度较好，含锰量相对高，因此镀铝锌在普通焊接条件下无法焊接，只能通过铆钉等其它方连接。在焊接方面热镀锌钢板表现较好。

Becausethe density of 55%AL-Zn is less than that of Zn, the area ofaluminum-plated zinc sheet is more than 3% larger with the sameweight and the same gold plating thickness. Due to the increase ofmechanical properties of aluminized zinc, the surface coatingdensity of the inner substrate is good, and the manganese contentis relatively high, so the aluminized zinc can not be welded underordinary welding conditions, and can only be connected by rivetsand other parties. In welding, hot-dip galvanized steel plateperformance is better.
